Here is the big one measuring at 605 pounds last night. It continues to push 30 pounds per day and defy the odds of a split pumpkin continuing to grow. There is a 2nd pumpkin on this plant that Is looking great and growing on a massive secondary that is the size of the main. I have decided to leave both on the plant for now and see how it goes. I have 4 weeks left until the Durham weigh off and I'd like to take something there. This plant is considerably smaller and less healthy than the 235 Arnold plant. The oldest leaves are dying off fast but it still ads new growth to the newest secondary vines and the younger leaves are very healthy. Despite my aging leaf loss, the roots must be healthy to continue to pack on 30 pounds a day. I have backed off my watering as I am trying to avoid powdery mildew. Watering just a little every other day. My one issue with this pumpkin is it is growing on a pallet and I need to move the pallet so the pumpkin doesn't fall off the edge as it grows. Unfortunately there is no moving this pumpkin. I am going to have to get crafty.
