I really like it when the pumpkins start to rise above the canopy of leaves, then you know you have something good going.

On the message board, a newish grower asked nicks and sratches and removing leaves and this picture is a great example of what a little "oops" does to the pumpkin as it grows. You can see on the very top, there is a brown mark in the middle about 4" long and 1" wide...that was a careless nick from a finger nail while doing some work when the pumpkin was just days old...Sorry Mr. Dill....I'll try and do better.

Looks like she will be orange and I'm glad cause that is what I have to shoot for now...Orange and Pretty....lol...
