For some reason the shape of the plants which grow in S-N-direction (top line) seems to be better than the shape of the plants in their back, which grow in N-S-direction. The 496 Geyelin doesn´t want to develop any males (the little male blossom buds just sit and wait until they shrivel). Females are developing nicely though. The good thing about back-to-back planting is that the 2nd plant in the same spot can tell you that it must be a problem of that particular plant, not a problem originating from soil conditions.
