So when the day started I had two plants growing in this area the 1969 Haist and what I affectionately call the "Lovelace" volunteer that popped up from where Sam's pumpkin ended up last winter. The plant was quite vigorous so I said, "Hey, why dont I freight train this baby right down the fence line and set a pumpkin on it way down the line after I turn the main into an area I can let the plant spread out?"
