Mid section away from the plant and about 4' away from the plant...more roots.
So, that is why I try and keep my soil light and fluffy and groomed nicely, so that the roots can settle in and do their job...stepping off a walking board or stepping directly into or on any of our soil, results in immediate eviction from the Dixon patch...
Plants are both doing great and our weather forecast is awesome...we are fortunate to be near the ocean, so there is almost always a breeze that keeps things from heating up too much.
