These roots are 4 feet out from the planting area (stump) and were under the boards on the sides that hold the plastic down...wow!!
Every year when I remove the hoophouse, roots have made their way quite a distance away from the plant, and very often I post these pictures in my diary in the hopes that just one new or newish grower...will see these pictures and realize just how important your growing area is, and how far the roots will go in a short time.
