Beautiful weather, mid to upper 80's...got almost an inch of rain last Friday! We are usually high 90's and a few 100's about now.....still, my pumpkins are creeping along....I'm getting 3-4 lb per day on each....923 Gerhardt, The Beautiful, is at a mere 357 OTT....but i'm blinded by the orange planet look-alike...so it softens the blow. The 1622 Young, the Speckled One, is at 447 OTT. If I can get the Young to break the AZ record of 469 lb I'll be happy, and the state champion for 5 minutes. I believe at least 2 of DeanAZ's will easily surpass this....It would be great if our efforts this first year of AZGPG bring at least 3 pumpkins over the existing record on Saturday May 30, our spring weighoff at Harper's Nursery....Team Pumpkin, Southwest Division, taking charge....that is all....
