Yesterday we had dime sized hail and very high wind, tornado warning about 40 miles NE of us, and were out of power for about 4 hours. We had the hail net deployed and it did it's job. The wind broke one of our apple trees off at the base (5 inch trunk), blew another one over (7 inch trunk) and snapped one of the high tension guy wires on the hail net. We spent an hour on damage control reinforcing hail net and making sure the rest of the night the plants were safe. Today, we put the hail net away (pictured) and prepared for the cold night ahead.
