Here's my third plot on the south side of tunnel 1 plot. Brandywine tomatoes started Nov 7th from seed at home...the planting bed used to be two rows with a path down the middle last year...I dug out the path last fall and filled it with old manure....let it sit for a few months, and then tilled the two rows and the manure in the middle to make one big tomato bed. By the time I planted these in mid Feb, they were already 3 month old plants....talk about getting a jump-start on a long-season tomato! You have to do that in the desert, because growing season ends in June, too hot! I also grew 150 tomato seedlings started mid December, for our garden club fundraiser.
