Got confirmation from Matt D. it is Mn deficiency...it is a micro nutrient, so I need to be conservative and creep up on the problem. I am going to apply a mild drench in a day or two, as I have just watered, and we'll add this to the learned technique inventory. Thanks Cecil, thanks Matt! First pollination in a couple days on both plants. Took a Female bud off tip of first secondary today on each plant.
