Here is the new tip. Picture 2/11, same day as double pinched off. As of this morning, this new tip is starting to assume growth. Plant only has one main secondary about 12" long...but others are budding along vine. Buried secondaries of the 1622 in other tunnel...had three on one side and 2 on other.....added mycorrhiza and covered junctions with a mix of screened compost, and potting mix. I learned from last year that you need to be careful not to bury the leaf junctions until the flower/secondary bud is up.....and if just beginning, add soil around junction, leaving buds uncovered, or you could stop them from forming....I don't see this mention much to newbies....
