8 days to go until the York Pumpkin Show and my squash is in trouble. Three days ago it was fine but today it had a soft spot on top the size of a 50 p coin. Using my thumb I scooped out bad tissue close to an inch deep. With all the rain we are having, water is getting into the growth cracks and sunscald cracks and is affecting it very quickly.
Treated with sulphur and can only keep my fingers crossed. If it progresses then an UOW on the scale will have to do.
Either way I only have room for two fruits to go to York.
