Today I pulled all the plants in this patch except for the stump to pumpkin lines for these two. Plan is to leave them to mature and sow a cover crop around them next weekend.

Pumpkin on the left is the 1107 Zunino x 1290 Poirier which is 5' out on the first secondary. Measured 237 lbs yesterday (Day 52) and this one was never going to be big as it was hardly watered, never fertilised and not a single vine was pruned or buried to encourage tap rooting. Whilst I like the shape of this fruit I kind of expected better colouring. Also had an issue with the skin cracking and the other side is pretty scarred. Leaving this one on the vine will hopefully mature the seed. Again, only grown for the cross although I am not sure how many would want to grow it given that it's not displaying 'Zunino orange'. On paper though....1107x1290 should be good!

Pumpkin on the right was from Jorg's 150 patch pumpkin from 2013. The plant was supposed to be Mehdi's 108 FP but I somehow mixed up the seeds. As a result, this plant was ignored all year and the plan is to let this Haloween carver mature on the vine.
