An observation to share. I was poking around in the soil with my fingers trying to evaluate the moisture level a few inches down. I found this healthy root (bottom center) about 1/8 in. in diameter traveling horizontally through the soil about 4-5 inches down. This is three feet ahead of the plant! I know this has been discussed before but a reminder to me to use the walkboards to minimize compaction and make sure the drip lines are running way ahead of the vines.
