This is the 1734 Steil plant from 5/30. It is currently the leader of the pack. Just like mom, this one seems like it is going to split its stem in several spots. Not sure why it does that but it doesn't seem to slow it down at all. I worried last year when my 220 (mom) kept splitting her stem at first but the plant remained aggressive all year and the stem splits healed up. I guess that is one way to make sure you don't get water built up in them stem..LOL
