Its been wet here in Va for well over a year. The Va Xtreme Patch is in the distance with some rye straw on it. I did a soil sample on 1/2/14 and it showed my organic matter was low at 2.0 so I added rye straw. I also added some nitrogen to help break it down as well as some leftover mycos and 900lb pellet gypsum. The straw I bed the pigs with has not been combined for the seed so it is full of seeds that will help to thicken the cover crop for sure. I didn't get the wheat planted until Nov 20th last fall and we have had a really cold winter this year.
