First Melon double rootstock graft attempt using an Approach Graft instead of a Tongue type. They have great roots for the technique. As you can see in the pics I cut out half way on the thickness on all three layers of the stem and applied rooting hormone on the cuts before the clamping. Also applied hormone into below soil level then mixed in and also on the area of the graft before covering with dirt then set grafted plants into the germ chamber with a humidity level of 76% @ 91 degrees and using a smaller planter covered it up to cut down on light stress but yet it has holes to allow air transfer to the soil for humidity contact. Fingers crossed. I will mist with water about 6-7 times daily for 3 days then rmove top and leave in chamber for one additional day then remove one scion and grafting clamp. Fun Fun AG seeds are doing well in the chamber.
