picked the second biggest bushel gourd off the 155 niewenhoff plant by myself. once I cut the hammock I realized these things weigh more than pumpkins of the same size and struggled a bit to shoulder her and walk 200 feet to my solarium to protect from cracking with the 22 degree temps last night. my guess is about 75 lbs. its a green shiney rock. lol. also picked the remaining 15 speckled swan gourds last evening before the freeze. blanketed the 75" circ. bushel gourd that me and Georgie J. will pick tb is weekend. picking up the 1185 pumpkin from Bengtsons today or tomorrow to deliver to Bobbys Tap...my home away from home. and the 1546 shenoha 2013 new state record pumpkin will be carved this weekend at Bengtsons by Joe Adkins also known here as PUMPKINHOUSE. Seed harvesting Nov 1st will bring the season to a close. glad the cover crop rooted nicely already before the freeze.
