WELLLL, that picture didn't turn out like I wanted...(where's that delete post button?)......Let's try this again.
Here are some more detailed pics of the lift ring. This ring was one of the first that Dean made, 2 years ago. It has lifted more than a dozen pumpkins with no problems at all.
In addition to the adjustable steel buckles, the way the strap is attached to the ring, the weight of the pumpkin locks the tail end against the lower ring so there is no way it can slip. The heavier the pumpkin the more force is applied to the strap against the ring.
The straps on mine are different colors because he was testing the stitching on the different thicknesses of the straps. The new rings all have black straps.
