This is another late pollination that I think is a very interesting cross. This pollination is on my son's 335 Scherber plant. The 335 is 1421 Stelts x 1161 Rodonis. It is a cross of a clone of the plant that grew the 1663 Zoellner crossed with a clone of the plant that grew the 1725 Sweet. That was crossed this year with a clone of the plant that grew the 2009 world record. My 7-year-old son is growing this seed and it was the fastest growing pumpkin of any pumpkin we've ever grown out of the gate. He is growing on virgin soil that was only prepped 2 weeks before he planted it outdoors and maybe 35 square feet got tilled until the tiller broke. The plant has limited space and is maybe 150 square feet in size and it has still gotten to an estimate 357 pounds already with limited care (about as good of care as a 7-year-old would do). I'm hoping to start a seed from this late pollination for my patch next year.
