side view of sunshine day 79. plant still healthy and still throwing terts with more new leaves being added daily. grass weeds don't mean much to me and help buffer old leaves from wind damage and suck up excess rain. we had 55 mph winds 2 days ago and heavy rain which the deep rooting grass weeds should help buffer an over load to my old plants. big 1" hail yesterday tracking directly at Joliet blew apart right before it hot here. small hail close by but none here. lucky. I had pumpkins covered in thick comforters and tarps. 88 degrees today and finally the heat ends tonight with more storms expected. sunshine was 398 ott last week or 1338 lbs on day 72 and averaged 11 per day day 60 to day 72.
