I did the plywood and mill fabric thing underneath, the bottom was flat and without any visible signs of damage. I wonder if there is a modification that can be made to keep the bottom solidly attached. The worst separation is where it rotted through at about 9 o'clock but there is a complete ring where it partially cracked from the weight, I assume. My wife might have been more disappointed in this one going down than I was. The way I figure it even though it didn't get to a weigh-off, with more effort and attention to details I should be able to grow a good one in the south.
