Another good trip to the Ohio State Fair and a Howard Dill Award. It was only big enough to take second place but with the way my season is going I'm thrilled. Estimated weight was 755 but it went 20% heavy. I like squash crosses! It's now officially known as 907.5 Cantrell 13. It was grown on a 604.5 Cantrell 11 (1020* Jutras 09 x 1161 Rodonis 07 (DeBacco clone))and pollinated by a 806 Shymanski 10 (800* Neily x 1725 Harp). The 806 was doing great and was going to be really orange with great shape until YVD took it out. This cross should produce an occasional squash, that's my goal. Rumor has it that if all goes well Ray Villafane will be carving her next weekend at Indy.
