Talked to Handyhomegrown on the phone the day before yesterday and asked what his thoughts on culling this 38.6 pound melon and going with a more desirable shaped melon. He told me to wait a few days and watch the numbers on both melons. Good Advice in my book. Well mark as I was measuring the 38 pounder this mornin I noticed a wicked underside stem split...It sorta made the decision for me,lol. So we start again on the 144 Cantrell but even with short time growing ahead I feel good about this next Long lil Melon. Theres a whole lot more vine behind it starting out.
