I wasn't going to share about this patch this year. I thought why not,,,, the bad should be shared too ;) After many, many phone calls with the amazing Steve Daletas and even a few with John and Harry from Western Labs,,,,, the conclusion of this new patch was to plant a bunch of cover crops and wait until next year. Boron is 5.1 ECe is over 5.0 pH over 8 among other things. All fixable but not in two weeks:) I planted anyways,,,,,,,,,, its amazing how soil can look so darn good but be so bad.........

This is Garys 1409 at day 28,, it sits right at and OTT of 221 or 249lbs. It will be a miracle if it hits 600lbs. I figured I would use the pumpkins to pull all the crap out! LOL!

Its very clear to me how important it is to have a well balanced soil,,,,,,,,,,,, these 3 kins just aren't happy.

I look forward to working on this soil all winter and have a better outcome in 2014.
