The first pollination of the season was on a 6 lobe female. Usually I only see 4 and 5. I cross section every pumpkin I cull, even when they are pea size, and last year I only saw one 6 lobe. Not sure if the number of lobes has any influence on growth potential?? Probably hard to say either way.
