209 Holloway watermelon. When I got up this morning at 5:30 and looked at the thermometer we have on the back porch (under an overhang), it said 39 degrees. When I got up to the patch and bent over to pick up the edge of the row cover, which had been laying in a shallow ditch I dug to bury the edge, I almost couldn't believe my fingers. There was a touch of frost on the cover! There was no frost anywhere else to be found, so I assume this was because it was laying in a ditch, but still that is incredible that we got that close to having frost on the ground on the 27th of May.
