Plants are growing. Kind of a rough start in the patch so far. Both plants seemed to have sustained some kind of burn on the second developing leaf. hhhhhmmmm, I suspect slight damage from a neighbor spraying weed killer or something. Not good! Oh well! Hope they grow out of it. Never had that before, but always a first time.

Joshua was out there with me this morning, he took off one of the rebarb protectors which are heavy and he chucked it into the patch!!!!! Needless to say it landed about 3 inches away from "curly", my nickname for the one plant. Another inch or two and it was toast!! lol Man, it's dangerous out here.

Curly seems to be growing faster and bigger than the other plant, but one thing I want to mention to newer growers, size and speed of growth for young plants means nothing. Slow starters can be just as good if not better at growing huge pumpkins.
