Hope to get the melons planted before the next round of rain. I need to cull a plant or two. These are the same age, can you guess which one will not make it to the patch? It's my own dang fault. I had plenty of the 270 Neptune seeds (sorry Bill) and I pulled this one out of the pack. Next year I'll start multiples of each seed if possible and like I posted earlier, more seeds will go out in my packets. Sadly I had a similar problem with a 1789 Wallace (Freak). Yes I culled it. Actually pulled it out of the pot to see if I could tell what was going on. Turned out to be split below the soil surface right wher the roots attach and was deformed. I put the 1221.5 Robinson in it's spot. Had to, it is the most aggresive plant so far. Also all hope of a 242 Carson and 245 Bartoli in my patch have been given up. All duds.
