This is the best and simplest way personaly I have found to heal grafts. A quick stop plastic drink cup w/ bottom cut off turned upside down and a plastic jelly, mayo, peanutbutter, whatever bottle turned uside down for the top. I mist the plant right after grafting place the cup, mist a bit in the clear plastic bottle and place over the cup. I set these over a low heat source or in my germ chamber if theres room at the time, "NOT IN A SUNNY WINDOW". I've tested the leggy plants since November and I am getting extra roots off the stems when buring them and thats a plus in my book. I pay close attention to the leaf growth of the scion, when the leaf growth has doubled I pretty much know it's healed no matter how long it's been covered..sort of a rule of thumb I've come up with over the how many days they take to heal method for me. This particular plant is one of the two Jeff Warner 121.5 Pear Gourd rootstock/144 Cantrell's that I just decided a couple days ago to combine. Remember..nothing is written in stone......except your divorce papers, lol.
