After much deliberation I've decided to go ahead and start a couple of pumpkin seeds. I know it's way early But I thought I would try to take advantage of our earlier spring weather compared to the northern gang. I'll have to grow under similar conditions that most of the country does. I'll get my first experience with heating cables in conjunction with a mini-greenhouse, heat lamps etc. With a lot of luck I might be able to compete with the folks that go to the Indiana and Ohio state fairs in August. Any real advantage I get in weather & temps I may be giving up on seed selection. I've decided to plant a couple of squash half breeds. 806 Shymanski 10 (800* Neily X 1725 Harp) and 604.5 Cantrell 11 (1020* Jutras X 1161 Rodonis (clone off Sweet)). If I kill em early or I can't figure this out I've got time to start over.
