After removing from the moist paper towel, I planted the seeds into two containers. This year I am going to use 22 quart (5.5 gallon) clear PC food bins. I have modified the bins by cutting off the bottom, flipping upside down so that the lid is now a removable bottom, and slitting a cut all the way up the side to allow for easy removal in the patch. I'll also be able to use them year after year. I'm hoping these new containers, and this test run, will allow me to understand how long I can grow indoors before the roots start to contact the container edges.
Both containers contain Pro-Mix BX. The container on the right also contains a few extra goodies mixed in. I planted the weaker looking seed in the container on the right in an attempt to see if the extras will help accelerate root development.
