December 15th and time to wrap up this diary thing for this year.. After another up and down and ending down 2012 season its time to reflect and plan for 2013. My dreams of a 1000 pound pumpkin came to a screeching hault in Altoona as the beast settled in 4 pounds shy. It was hard to take. It measured over 1k and the 1674 Marsh genetics surely should have gotten me there. It was cut 2 days early, left in the sun,, with no water on the stem for our 4 hour trip to Altoona. Now I wish we had parked it in the car wash the night before and did an all night soaking. I really thought it was not going to be close. There was a nice lineup at Altoona.
