Cover crop was close to a foot long so I mowed in 2 inches of sweetgum and maple leaves. The Spruce 2nd from right is about 6 feet tall so you can see why I get zero sun in the afternoon. Because of the heat, I think the shade saved me this year, but it will be hard to grow BIIIGG in the future.
