Good kitty Cole!! Since the weather has cooled off now, the squirrel population comes out of the hills down lower to where the food is more plentiful.
Since our immediate area was cleared of squirrels in the spring and early summer, the young males are looking to secure a territory and ours appears to be open since Cole has been bringing home and eating about 2-3 each week.
He has a special spot in our yard that he comes to hide from the crows that like to steal his catches, and the only thing left over are the tails.
I keep them to proudly show off for a short while, then give them to my buddies and brother-in-law to use for making flies for rainbow trout fishing...recycle/re-use!!
