If you want to blow up pumpkins over 1000 pounds, just water inconsistantly. I have two drip tape systems in my patch and one of them had a clogged filter (inside timer controler). There are actually 3 filters in each system and one I did not know existed got clogged and thus severly reduced water to 6 plants, three of which split. Once again, grower error. Every year I learn a little more, this one I should have caught earlier.
