Grafted Melon crossed X 291 Kent.This is the first melon on plant to open in a timely manner.Stump has a brown discoloring forming on the stump,starting to think these grafts dont like the heat,Squash like kins are more sensitive then melons to the hot days.If this does not look good by weekend I will pull plant & give the space to EGgBeRt JR. & Captain Marvel the II.There on fire with several melons going now!polinated the 1161 Rodonis X the husky sister yesterday about 20ft.on the MV.So I have 2 going on the 1161 hoping they take before the next heat wave comes threw mid 80s all week.Nice working weather.Buried vines yesterday on the 1723 Marshall have a nice kin going about bowling ball size.Still have hopes of hitting 1500 pds by Oct 13th.I think its to late to get bigger then that.
