Thursday(4/12) I set up the bones for this cloche. Today (Sunday) I got the plastic on and sealed it up. I used some of the plastic from the greenhouse I dismantled. Before I sealed it I put a thermometer in it. It read 60 dgs. before I sealed the cloche and less than an hour later it was 94 dgs. I'm going to plant my 1056 Holland(1303 Sweet x 1725 Harp) in this one. In case of a failure I have plenty of good backups. This cloche also has a 40' heating cable in it. Not having to work a job is sure different. I was never able to give my pumpkins this much attention when I was working. I am going out on a limb here and hoping for a new PB of at least 1000 lbs. The largest I have heard of from this area was quite a few years ago of 800+ lbs. Still have 2 smaller pumpkin cloche's to build plus at least 3 watermelon houses.
