day 70. small kin is ott 260 and the larger one 301 ott.
going by the new chart the 2 kins weigh just over 1000lbs, this is one milestone for me. one vine 1000lbs of pumpkins... too bad its not one pumpkin. from day 60 to day 70 there is a gain of 16 ott on the big one, or about 9lbs a day, so nice steady growth still. next target is 726lbs to beat my pb, then let it grow till it stops. 1000lbs is 358 ott... so could get to that if this pace continues. last year i had a pumpkin still growing in june...
put down 3 kgs of fert today. the vine got hit by pm big time during the week.... had to go away for a few days. have sprayed the vine, and am letting it grow new leaves to counter the lost to pm. the vine is about 3000sq ft now, but the Central area has no leaves anymore.
some of the old timers in the area have heard about what im upto and are coming over for a looksy, ..... and my seed bank is being depleted. lol... looking forward to seeing what these retired farmers can produce!
