Interesting things about the 409 and 222.....
-It was estimated at 310 lbs, it came out 99 pounds heavier, which is almost ridiculous for a pumpkin of this size.
-The 222 Abbate seed was grown by 20 other gardeners in the Okanagan. It won 11 prettiest pumpkin awards. Every pumpkin grown from the 222 was bright white and extremly heavy to the charts.
-Very large stumps, aggressive plant growth.
-All pumpkins grown from the 222 had deep ribs. (Bad thing for spliting / Kinda good thing for prettist pumpkin)
-Both the 222 and 409 had dill rings. Yet the inside walls of the pumpkins were still 6 inches thick in the dill ring area. So the chance of spliting is still kinda low.
-Very sucked-in blossem ends. (Bad thing for spliting / Good thing for prettiest pumpkin)
-Both the 222 and 409 had very high seed counts. (Over 1300 seeds in total)
