and a top view, this is through the glass. the arrow points to several holes that a stick can go through and touch the soil. the vine that goes into the hole is attached to the stump with several thick "cords" about thumb thickness. this vine feeds the bigger pumpkin... so the plumbing is still all attached and pumping up the pumpkin pretty good.
this view shows why i am nervous about how long this pumpkin can grow for. but so far.... even though it is ugly, it is doing rather well.
if i get to 90 days i would like to dissect the stump and check out the plumbing structure.
i use lime sulfur and bug stuff "inside" the stump once a week.
well thats it for day 40... 50 more days to go and the weather forecast is for a major storm tomorrow and saturday.
