so i started to prod and poke and started to get very concerned. so i got a clean knife and cut off the secondary vine and started to trim back to the troubled area bit by bit.
i have to say...... the more i cut the more i worried.
and while i was at it, i cut away all the leaves and straggly vine bits away from around the stump area to allow light and breeze to get to the vine. i also uncovered the buried vine nodes and saw some very heavy root structures.... which is great.
