i have reset the tire wall further out, buried a lot of the vine and built a cover over the stump. once i buried the vines i have had to put weedmat over the soil and cobble stones to stop the chickens digging in the fresh soil.
i put a cover over the stump to keep it dry and cool, when i drove the stakes in, the soil was soft as for 3ft, so there should be huge root mass down there.
this vine is alot smaller than other years, but has larger leaves and stronger stump for age. and the secondaries are growing out about 3 ft a week at this stage.
i spent 4 hours working on the plant and yet in the photos it looks like nothing much was done.
also did a foliar seaweed watering over the whole area.
