Unoffically weighed the 856 Hoffman which has sat for about a month without growing. I figured it would likely weigh heavy to chart based how solid it felt, it hurts your hand to smack it, unlike the 853 which feels and sounds light which it ended up being - 6%. Estimated at 544 lbs, weighed around 700 on a truck scale. Was tough to get an exact weight as the wind was making the scale fluctuate up and down up to 40 lbs at times, still way heavy and its close enough for me. Might be a good cross with the 498 except I'm worried whatever made it stall out early could be a genetic flaw which showed up, as the plant seemed healthy and the pumpkin is solid, no holes or cracks anywhere underneath. I plan on having some locals test out the seeds from the 853 next season to get an idea.
