update from Teresa on the patch.

She decided that it has finally dried out enough to start watering. I had the watering system in place, leak tested and the timer set up before I left. Tomorrow it will kick on for the first time this year. Lowest part of patch has valves turned off, probably for 3 or 4 more days.
She removed the 998.5 because I dont need pollen for the young any longer and the plant just wasnt happy in the wettest part of the patch. I had let the young and speakman invade some of its space too. I will have to add some more dirt to raise this area if I grow in it again, and maybe put a drain tile in. The dirt stionks like swamp it's been so wet for so long (since Feb). She is keeping up with burying, has about 1/2 of 922 terminated, and starting to remove the 4 backup pumpkins that are between 2 and 10 days old (one a day) Speakman has basically self terminated, most vines only growing an inch or so every couple of days, all backups removed. Vines are within 10 inches of edge of patch anyway. Main still moving ahead. Weston has just about filled 2/3 of its alloted space, since the 1622 Liggett didnt make the cut, it will be given a little extra room this year. No vines terminated on it yet.
