Smashed my personal best by 955 pounds. Fruit is now the "1157 Zappa 2010 dmg". Unofficial I guess. Fruit was only around 52 days when it stopped growing on Aug 1st.It may have put on a few pounds after the split, but I think the stoppage was from the infection in the plant. Either way, this pumpkin could still be growing if not for the infection.
As stated before, it put on 889 pounds in the month of July. It was pollinated on june 10th, about 9 foot out.350 feet of plant behind it, about 150 feet in front of it.The 5 days before the splits it put on a average of 40 pounds a day. 2 days after the splits I noticed the infection starting only 2 feet behind the fruit on the main vine/seconday junctions. It kept getting worse day by day.About 2 weeks ago I cut it from the main on the stump side and 2 days ago I cut it from the remaining main in front. I am going to keep it on a pallet covered with a tarp, hopefully until October.
If it has seeds they will be free to growers some time in November. It was selfed, so it should retain the same great genes as the 763 Young.
