i heard 2 things over the weekend that were so right on i had to share them. the first is from my friend's son who is growing an 1125 shenoha plant. the only thing my friend dan has done for the entire year is lift up the pumpkins to put styrofome under them. the rest the 5 year did with excellent 3' deep of 100 year old black dirt on the farm in that spot and a garden house out to the plant so the kid could spray it down and water every day. that is all they have done and they have 2 bigger than laundry basket circumference. his son looked him dead in the eye and said, "dad, isn't it amazing that these big things come from just a seed?" and then after seeing my pumpkin, the 5 year then said, "i think i will try a few things different next year dad." wow. i created a monster. good luck kid and you might as well get a shrink now. lol. very smart boy and it thrilled me to here my friend re-tell the tales. the next thing that was dead nuts was when i showed off Clegg yesterday to friends in town due to the passing of their father. i cheered them up, gave them some long neck speckled swan gourds, and took the tarp off Clegg so they could get some pics. while taking some pics, debbie said, "only one word to describe that pumpkin shazzy, OBNOXIOUS!!!!" which made me laugh cuz the pumpkin takes after its human papa....me....king of obnoxious!!!! gluttany is my finest quality, and "obnoxious" pretty much sums me up in one word. lol.
