clegg on day 71 this morning is 407.5 ott or estimated at 1413 lbs. it averaged 9.1 lbs per day the past 8. the plant looks raggy around the pumpkin from me tampling around it to measure once per week and the leaves getting covered by the tarp when it is up and weeds growing under the tarp. i only take off the tarp for pics. but the plant is still healthy with no main vine rot at this point and everything healed nicely. all leaves down the main have been pruned for a while and all looks good so far for coasting in the next 42 days til picking. the powdery mildew is almost non-existent from the quilt fungicide. many green shiney leaves left and even the big ole rounded out old timer leaves are not looking too bad. the plant is kicking out terts i have to prune still which is a great sign of vigor. the best my plants have looked in later august ever to this point. i got de-con around the pumpkin for mice and hopefully it will coast off another 100 lbs estimate when all is said and done. hoping to see 200" circ. in 2 weeks when i measure and take pics again. i will continue to foliar feed, drench, and spray with the same combo rates i have been using mentioned in a recent post. i have been watering consistantly in the heat in the morning and the afternoon for 2 hours stretches with the 6' rain tower too cool the patch, the soil, tarp temps, the perimeter wooden fence, the driveway, and the hot brick house...cool the whole microclimate from 2:30 to 4:30 pm and allow drying time for evening humidity. 5-7 in the a.m to replentish what was sucked up at night. now with lower humidity and less high heat days, 3 hours every morning on the timer from here on out unless rain.
