Day 48 for the 1288.5 Pugh. 146, 79, 84 a total of 309 inches for an estimated 620 lbs. This is a long pumpkin with a low profile. Comparing it to the picture of my 991 pumpkin currently growing you can see a resemblance.
The 1288.5 Pugh is the 991 Urena x 961.5 Urena. The 961.5 was a tall pumpkin that went 25% heavy. I was hoping the 1288.5 would produce a long tall pumpkin that goes heavy. It does not look like the height is coming through with my pumpkin but I’m going to bet it will continue to get longer and go heavy.
Looking back at prior years’ measurements, last years 1029 gained almost 300 lbs from day 48 to harvest and my 966 put on 470 lbs from day 48 to harvest. Both had a bad case of powdery mildew that probably held them back. This year I’ve kept up with a spray program and as you can see in the picture the leaves are in good shape.
Slow and steady, slow and steady...
