and the angle shot of clegg on day 63. you can see i have not been in the patch too much to even chop the tall grass weeds. they barely stop any light going to the leaves and any cluster that gets too large over the canopy gets trimmed down with a serated knife. trying to limit all time in the interior to whacking pop up terts, clusters of weeds that go above the canopy and to check on my main vine. i do not want to track any powdery mildew spores around if possible. the pm is in check nicely with the quilt fungicide. you can see in the pic i have a row of now total 5 small tables with tarps on top over areas of the 991 main vine and fans underneath them to keep the healed areas rot free. so far all areas have firmed up totally since that overloading of 7" of rain caused weeping at any and all fissures on the plants and created a couple new ones with the push. 1" of rain was not bad last night and 40 mph didn't even take down the 14' tall gordon graham and 15' tall big zac tomato plant, but they sure did get a nice test and i was glad to see the recent re-inforcement to the poles worked good on these massive tall heavy plants. i will get pics of April on the 873 in about 5 or 6 days. i am waiting for het to hit the 1000 lb est mark by around then. and "stoughton" on the 1147 comeback story plant on the secondary is 76" circ today on day 20 and looking like the original 1147 momma and getting that big ass working. i will get picks later this week. too hot today and just the time measuring and taking pics of the 991 pumpkin has me lathered in a sweat. nasty heat on humidity lately. tomorrow night when the heat breaks i will chop weeds below the canopy and then immediately spray some quilt/demand cs/3-18-18/ fulvic foliar/and some 0-0-25 at meduim strength dose and hit the plants with 4 gallons below the canopy and 4 gallons above with the stihl fogger.
